Coffee and Friends

Hi!
It's Kerys from Scrappinnhappy and it's my turn on the blog today. Here is my weekly post and a little inspiration for combining stamp sets.

Anyone who knows me, knows I run on coffee! I love anything coffee related - in particular stamps! I used 3 different stamp sets on this card - all from Gerda Steiner designs and all available in the Crafty Doodle Chick store.

I decided to try some masking for this image. I stamped the 'Coffee Hedgehog' first and then used some masking paper to cover him up. I then stamped the bear from 'Warm Fuzzies' and the dinosaur from 'Coffeesaurus' on either side of him. I colored the images with my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut it out.

For the background and banners I used Sunny Studio's Classic Gingham 6x6 cardstock.

The sentiment and die cut 'coffee' word are from Honey Bee Stamps (coming to the store soon!) They are the Perfect Blend stamp set and Perfect Blend honey cuts. I stamped them in Versafine black onyx ink and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I stacked 3 of the die cuts together for added dimension and added wink of stella for a little sparkle!

Thanks for looking and don't forget to check out the Crafty Doodle Chick blog every day for lots of inspiration from the rest of the design team

And don't forget the next Paw-fect Challenge on Facebook will be posted on Sunday 3rd June! Enter for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the store and the title of TOP DOG!!

Party Pups Birthday

Hey everyone!! I am really excited to share this card with you today. It’s clean. It’s simple. And it has a CORGI. Check it out-

I started by making my splatter background. All it took was a piece of kraft card stock and white distress paint. Then I added my Copic colored corgi from Sunny Studio’s Party Pups set. A sentiment heat embossed on black was a perfect grounding point for my pup. Some matte enamel dots and a strip of washi completed this CAS card!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a fun weekend!

Since I went with no sentiment on the front of the card I added a fun sentiment from the Coffee Talk Stamp Set...

Gina K Wreath Builder Birthday

Hi! Kerys here from Scrappinnhappy, with my weekly post and a little last minute inspiration for the current Paw-fect challenge - It's All About the Girls.

I'm super excited that Gina K Designs is now being sold in the Crafty Doodle Chick store. I have watched some many YouTube videos of people using the Wreath Builder template and stamps to make cards, that I knew I had to give it a try!

I was amazed how easy the template made building up the wreath with the different stamps. I wanted to keep the color combo quite simple and decided on grey's and pinks. It was my Mum's  70th birthday on May 10th so this card worked out perfectly for her!

I stamped the sentiment from the same set and used Lawn Fawn's Outside In Stitched Scallop Circle Stackables to cut it out. I popped this up on foam dots for added dimension.

I finished the card off by layering the wreath panel on pink cardstock and a grey A2 card base. I added some bling to the flowers and a bakers twine bow for more interest.

You'll find the Gina K Stamps and Templates Wreath Builder Bundle in the Crafty Doodle Chick store:

Embossing & Watercolor

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a card I made using the newly stocked Gina K stamps in the Crafty Doodle Chick store!  I used the You Make Me Smile stamp.  I love the design of these roses or well flowers. I embossed with white embossing powder on Langton watercolor paper.

I then colored the image with Zig Clean Color pens.  I really love using these for watercoloring the colors are really vibrant and true.

I used patterned paper from Lawn Fawn for the card front and popped on some enamel dots.  For the sentiment I used a diecut sticker to complete the look.

I hope everyone enjoyed my post and thanks for stopping by!!

Keep it Clean and Simple

Hello friends!  It's Lisa here with you today, and I'm taking card making back to the basics.  Sometimes all you really need are a few great supplies to make quick, simple, and beautiful cards.  This is great to keep in mind when you need a card quickly, or if your feeling in stuck in creative rut. Breathe, choose just a few products and get crafting!

Simple and clean, just the way I like it!  I went over half of the stencil along the one side of my panel with Distress Oxide Inks in Fossilized Amber and Wilted Violet.  I then tamped my sentiment, adhered my panel to black cardstock and finished it off with a few flat back gems.

So next time you need to make a card quickly, just slow down and go back to the basics!
Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
Lisa

PS - Did you see the new Lawn Fawn is available in the store now?! eeeekkk!!!

Sending Big Hugs

Hi! Kerys here from Scrappinnhappy today with my weekly post and a sketch to inspire you for the current Paw-fect challenge - It's All About the Girls.

I love so many stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn available at the Crafty Doodle Chick store, and I used lots on this card!

I wanted to give you a little inspiration for the current challenge (It's All About The Girls), which will end on Saturday 26 May 8pm EST. I have a sketch for you to try out too if you feel this would be an added inspiration.

I started by stamping the elephant from the 'slow down and enjoy' stamp set and colored it with my prismacolor pencils. I used the add-on die to cut out the 'bookmark' from pink cardstock, adhering the elephant on top. If using it as a bookmark, remember to not stick the legs down, allowing you to prop it over the page (or the sentiment banner in this case). I added some bakers twine to the top of the bookmark.

As the bookmark will be removed by the recipient, I wanted something behind it.

I added a green tag behind the bookmark, and added a birthday sentiment from the 'slow down and enjoy' stamp set. The banner sentiment is also from the same set.

The papers are from Lawn fawn and I used a scalloped border die for a little interest to the design.

Mega Hello

Hey, everyone! Happy weekend! I have a really neat card to share with you today. Check it out-

I used the new Mega Hello die from Altenew as my focal point today. It really is a mega sized die! I cut it 3 times from heavy weight card stock then once with patterned paper. I adhered them together before popping it up on my card. The background was made with a stencil and some vellum. This is a really simple card but that die really is a showstopper so I wanted to keep the design clean.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!!

Psychedelic Rainbow

Hello!  Happy Friday, and Happy early Mother's Day Weekend to all of the strong, powerful, and beautiful women reading this.  Today's card is a mix of sweet with a hint of psychedelic thrown together.

I haven't used my MFT: BG Marble Background Stamp in some time so I decided to have fun with it and used one of my rainbow ink pads on it.  I wanted to keep playing on the whimsical feel so I stamped and colored in my Rosie Loves Bernie Stamp Set before I cut them out.  The circle cuts and heart were found in my scrap pile, and I think the played to the scene drawing the eye into the sweet image of Rosie hugging Bernie's tail.  To keep the sentiment separated from the scene on the top of my card I propped the panel up with foam adhesive .

Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my card for today!  While I've used some older MFT on today's card you should see all of the new MFT that has been added to the shop!  I wish you all a beautiful weekend celebrating the amazing women in your life.

Happy Crafting!

Make a Wish

Hi!
Kerys here from Scrappinnhappy with my weekly post and some color inspiration for the current Paw-fect challenge - It's All About the Girls.

Love so many stamps from My Favorite Things available at the Crafty Doodle Chick store, I decided to use lots on this card!

I wanted to give you a little inspiration for the current challenge (It's All About The Girls), which will end on Saturday 26 May 8pm EST. I have a color inspiration board for you to try out too if you feel this would be an added inspiration.

I started by creating the musical background. I stamped the background using MFT's Musical Notes Background stamp, with Versamark Watermark ink and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I then blended 'Worn Lipstick' distress ink over the top to create the background, using a kitchen towel to wipe any excess ink off the heat embossing.

I used MFT's Wish Die-namic and cut out the word from the background. I also cut it out of white cardstock another 3 times, layering them up for dimension. I then put these back into the background.

I used MFT's Celebratory Banner die-namics, and popped up the banner on foam dots.

I stamped one of the MFT Birthday Chicks and fussy cut him out. I paper pieced the birthday hat and popped him up on foam dots. The sentiment is from the same Birthday Chicks stamp set. I then cut the banner out using one of MFT's blueprints dies.

This panel was then adhered to a plain white card base.
