Candy Packages

Hello Crafty Doodle Chick Friends!!

Kendra here from Luv 2 Scrap N' Make Cards to share some cute treat packages with you!!

I am so in love with the adorable little Rawr stamp set by Lawn Fawn!!  As well as the coordinating Rawr die cut set!

I thought it would be fun to create these packages for my kiddos:
They both absolutely LOVE candy hearts!!   I altered each of them just a little bit to make them different!

Here is a close-up of one of them:
How fun!!

For the heart on each of them, I used my Distress Oxides Inks to add some color on white cardstock, I then stamped the outline of the heart from the How You Bean? Conversation Heart Add-On stamp set, as well as the 'Luv U' sentiment and then die cut them out using the coordinating How You Bean? Conversation Heart Add-On Dies by Lawn Fawn!!

I thought adding these die cut candy hearts, were the perfect touch!  Brings the sweet treat below into the design above!!

Be sure to check out all the lovely products the Crafty Doodle Chick shop carries!!

Baby Boy Card

Hey, everyone! Kevin back with another card to share with y'all. But this time, its a little different. I had something special in mind for this particular stamp from Dreamerland Crafts. I knew I wanted to make something special for a baby boy. I think that this card is something special that the parents would love to frame and put in the child's room! Check it out-

It's a rather large card- about 6.5 x 6.5 inches. I started by stamping the Leading the Way stamp and then colored it in with Copics. A little sentiment stamped in blue finished off the main panel.  Then I matted the colored panel with black black paper and patterned paper. This is a pretty simple card, but I think that all the mattes and that adorable image really make it a special piece!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop by the Crafty Doodle Chick online shop for lots of great things- including the BRAND NEW Lawn Fawn preorder, no really- check it out- there's so many awesome new products!

Surprise Hug Postcard

Hello, hello!  It's Lisa here today, and whew!  Hasn't this past week just been a whirlwind of fun and excitement with all of the Creativation photos and new products?!  Check out the store instagram page with a  few photos taken by the owner Jennifer herself!  Any who, now that it's time to get back to normal and share some new crafty love with all of you.  Today I have created a watercolor postcard  using the super sweet Hush Little Bunny Gorjuss Girl Stamp Set, my Distress Markers and Strathmore Watercolor Postcards...

Did I mention, that these sweet girls are less than $3 a piece in the store right now and on SALE???  You're welcome! :)  To create my postcard I started by masking off the edges with washi tape.  Things to keep in mind when doing this: 1) Make sure it isn't super sticky tape or it will take off a little of the top layer of your paper, 2) Make sure it is down flat on your paper so that drops of the watercolor can't get underneath it.  Once it was taped off I stamped this sweet girl image with Versafine Ink, and then colored her in with various Distress Markers, by coloring the marker onto an acrylic block and using a wet brush to pick the color up and drop it on.  Once she was dry I added layers of background color in the same way.  Finally, once the whole thing was dry I removed my washi tape, stamped the sentiment and a few hearts.

I kept this project a one layer, but still created dimension through use of masking.  I hope I've inspired you on a new way to use these lovely girls as the star of your projects.
Happy Crafting!
Lisa

*Update: I apologize the specific girl I've used is currently sold out, but there are many more that need some stamp love and are just as cute!  Check them all out!

Neat & Tangled Love Always & Forever

Hello, y'all crafters! It's Siqi here today showing a rainbow color LOVE card features products from Neat & Tangled. I simply chose to use a stencil to create a ink-blending colorful background using my absolutely top 3 distress ink colors.

For the ink-blending today, I chose Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, and Peacock Feathers distress inks. This is my go-to distress ink color combination. And when you overlap them, they will turn into a new color. Here I used Neat & Tangled Scalloped stencil and placed it over a piece of white cardstock. I first go over the panel with mini ink-blending tool to blend on the three ink colors and overlap them in a rainbow color order. After putting down the first layer, I remove the stencil and lightly go over the whole panel with the same colors to also add some color in the white areas.

For the sentiment, I die cut the word Love and the little heart circle with the Neat & Tangled LOVE NOTES die set out of some double sided tape covered cardstock. Then peel off the release paper, and coat the die cuts with white glitter and reenforce it with a bone folder. I also white heat-embossed the sub-sentiment Always & Forever from the Neat & Tangled LOVE NOTES stamp set on a thin strip of black cardstock.

To put together the card, I die cut a heart with some vellum. Adhere the sentiment strip on the vellum heart with the glitter coated "Love" word and heart circle. Then adhere the vellum heart onto the ink-blended panel. I also mat the panel with a piece of fun foam to add a nice and sturdy dimension.

To finish it off, I added some clear sparkling sequins here and there to add some shine.

This is a really simple card design that you can use almost any stencil with any color combination that yo would like to add some of your style in it.

Thank you for joining me today. Below I have all the main products I used listed. You can find them at Crafty Doodle Chick online store. And don't forget to subscribe to the newsletters to receive promotions, sales, pre-orders, etc. I will see you again next week. Happy Crafting!

It's your Birthday with the Gorjuss Girls!

Hi! Kerys here and I'm back on the blog today with a super cute gift card holder card!

So i have now discovered another favorite brand of stamps at the Crafty Doodle Chick Store - the Gorjuss Girls by Santoro Stamps!!!! They are super cute images on red rubber that stamp out perfectly every time! There are so many to choose from and they are super cheap - great value for money!
I used the adorable 'Ladybird' (No.5) stamps for my card.

I colored her using my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut her out.
I used all MFT products on this card - not that I'm obsessed with this company at all! LOL!
I used Precious Poloroids die set to cut out the photo frame from white cardstock.
I used the Blueprints #30 set to make the background and cut out the different elements, from MFT's Party Patterns paper pack.
The banner has the 'lift' label from the Interactive Labels stamp set which turned the card into a gift card holder!! (I used mini glue dots to attach the gift card - this way it can be pulled off without ripping the card).

The sentiments were stamped using the All Smiles sentiment set.
A little bakers twine finishes the card off!

Conversation Hearts

Hello Crafty Doodle Chick Friends!!

Kendra here from Luv 2 Scrap N' Make Cards to share a cute card with you!!

I recently got the fun How You Bean? Conversation Heart Add-On stamp set and coordinating How You Bean? Conversation Heart Add-On Dies by Lawn Fawn!!  I was so excited to use it!!

Here is the card I created:
I stamped out the cluster of hearts a few times on printer paper and fussy cut them out.  I did this so that I could use them to mask off portions of the cluster as I stamped them on a good piece of cardstock.  I envisioned first using the set to create a fun heart filled strip for my card!!

I used some of my Distress Oxide inks to add color to the hearts!!  I then stamped all the tiny sentiments in all the hearts, again masking as needed!!
Such a fun and cute card!!  I just love all candy hearts!!

Can't wait to share my next project I have in mind with this set!!

One Layer Wonder with Dreamerland Crafts

Hey, everyone! It's Kevin back again for a sweet one layered card to share with you. But before I get started, check out this SALE that is happening over at the Crafty Doodle Chick store!

While Jen is over in the winter-free state of Arizona enjoying herself at Creativation, we get to enjoy 18% off everything in the shop! How cool is that?

Now let's get to ( I think) my first one layered card EVER! I usually love popping up images or sentiments or using layers in some way, but for this scene I thought it would be fun to see if I could make it a one layered card. Check it out-

I started by stamping the Sweet Moments image from Dreamerland Crafts with a Copic friendly ink on a white card base. Then I started coloring! I used blends of 3 markers in most areas and tried to use a more muted color palette with a few neutrals mixed in. Then I added the road and grass with Copics as well and did some Distress Inking for the background with a cloud stencil. Finally, a sentiment from my stash made its way to the card.

I hope you guys found some sort of inspiration today and maybe try to find a way to create a one layer wonder yourself! If you do, make sure to hashtag #craftydoodlechick and tag the store or myself- kevinbray10 - on Instagram!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Not Long Enough

Hi!  It is Lisa here today and I have a very clean one layer card for you today.  I know that sympathy cards can be hard to make, especially during the time you might need one.  So I like to have a few on hand, should I or someone I know need one.  For a while I had a hard time finding a set that was appropriate for the loss of a pet, but when I saw the Newton Nook Designs Furr-ever Friends Stamp Set I really liked all of the sentiments and images in it.

To create this card I started by stamping the dog image first with Versafine Ink.  I then stamped and cut out a mask for the dog, so that I could stamp the paw print heart slightly over that.  After I removed the mask I stamped the sentiments in a diagonal path on the front of the card.  I added a strip of washi along the top of the cardbase, and finished it off with a few black gems.

Stop by the Crafty Doodle Chick store and see what other Newton Nook Design stamps are currently available, as well as lots of other goodies!  And don't forget the shipping is fantastic.

Happy Crafting!
Lisa

MFT LOVE: You Are My Happy Place

Hello, everyone! It's Siqi here today back with another Love theme card which I used my all time favorite technique-ink smooshing.

Besides reds and pinks, I think there are other colors that are good for Valentine's Day too or just any occasion when you want to tell someone that you love him/her. So today I chose a blue & teal color scheme with a little bit of yellow to it to make this Love card more gender neutral.

I first used several different distress inks, to put some color down on a sleek surface with different colors randomly. Then sprayed the inked surface with a water mister till there is decent size of water drops formed. And then grabbed a piece of watercolor paper(you can also use bristol paper here.) to press the top surface in to the "ink pool". Let it completely dry. Then splattered on some clear water with a round watercolor brush, let the water drops sit on the panel for about 30 seconds. Then I used a paper towel to dab away the water. This will create a bleached effect.

I recently just got my first happy mail order from Crafty Doodle Chick and when I saw that My Favorite Things Full Of Heart die panel, I knew I have to get it. So I decided to die cut it with some cheapie cardstock to use as a stencil. By the way, there is a stencil with the same pattern that you can use which will cover a larger surface and to be used many many times. I then mixed a little bit of translucent embossing paste with some Squeezed Lemonade distress ink to add a little yellow tint to it. I stenciled on my custom made embossing paste over the stencil that I created with My Favorite Things Full Of Heart die panel using a palette knife on top of my dried ink-smooshed panel.

The rest of this card is really simple. I die cut the My Favorite Things Huge Love word die with some white cardstock 4 times. Adhered them all together and sprayed the top with some spray adhesive. Then dip each letter into my Prisma glitter to add some sparkle and shine on the word.I also white heat embossed a sub-sentiment "You Are My Happy Place" on a thin strip of black cardstock. Adhered them on my card and added some aqua and clear sequins to finish it off.

You can of course change the sentiment to fit any occasions as needed, as also the color scheme. I'm actually thinking about do the ink-smooshing with reds and the sentiment in green to be one of my Christmas card this year. Is it too early to think about Christmas card designs? Lol.

Hope you enjoy today's Love card with the blue & teal colors. Below I have all the main products I used listed. You can find them at Crafty Doodle Chick online store. And don't forget to subscribe to the newsletters to receive promotions, sales, pre-orders, etc.

Thank you for joining me today. I will see you again soon!
